The
Scarecrow's Hat - Ken Brown
I'm a
Little Scarecrow
(Sung to the
tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a
little scarecrow
Raggedy
and worn
I wear
a hat
And a
shirt that's torn
When
the crows come,
I wave
and shout,
"Away
from my garden - Get on out!"
|
|
Rhyme:
The floppy, floppy
scarecrow
Guards his fields all
day.
He waves his floppy,
floppy hands
To scare the crows
away!
(Substitute
additional body parts for additional verses.)

Activities:
Stuff
a Scarecrow:
Materials
- child sized clothing (jeans, flannel shirt, overalls...)
- hay (enough to stuff clothing full)
- pumpkin for head, or you can use muslin stuffed with hay
and tied at bottom
- small hat
- dowel or stick for attaching head
Procedure
Allow children to stuff child sized clothing with hay.
When it is stuffed full enough to resemble a scarecrow, place
dowel through body to hold it together. Place head on top
